Start app

The Stiliger Service App can be started in any project using the Apps menu of the ETS. Then, the Service App accesses the devices contained in this project and the KNX interface of this project.

If multiple projects are open within the ETS, then a separate Stiliger Service App window can also be opened in each project. In this case, for the Stiliger Service App also to be able to access the devices of the correct project in the different windows, the different KNX interfaces also need to be set.

On starting, the Stiliger Service App tries to download current firmware data online from the update server, using an Internet connection. If the connection to the update server is not possible, it may be necessary to check the settings of the Stiliger Service App (Configuration). If no Internet connection is available, then the Stiliger Service App can continue with the previously downloaded firmware data.

In the next step, there is the option of checking the firmware versions of devices in the KNX system. Here, the firmware of the devices is read out and compared with the existing firmware data of the app. This step is always required if new (or also old) firmware is then to be programmed into devices of the KNX installation.

The checking of firmware versions requires a functioning connection to the KNX installation. The Stiliger Service App only controls those devices of a KNX system which can be updated and for which there is firmware information. The check may take several minutes, depending on the number of KNX devices and the speed of the programming connection. Alternatively, the check of the firmware versions can also be carried out at a later time.

User interface

The functions of the Stiliger Service App are divided up over multiple display pages, which can be opened using "tiles" on the left-hand edge of the user interface ("Device Update", "Reports", "Help").
